Look Up!

Look Up:
By Restored Warriors Brother: Jason

My family and I were in Cracker Barrel recently and my oldest son and I were looking up at the old farm machinery dangerously dangling overhead. As I started to look directly up, I realized how very few times we as humans look directly up.

Think about it. How many times do you look straight up?

Do it right now….it feels weird, doesn’t it?

We don’t look straight up. We sometimes look at family, friends and work but mostly we look down – down at our phones. We are so engaged in our little boxes we forget or are disinterested to look up.

But yet, Jesus says, “Now when these things begin to happen, (end of the age) look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.” Luke 21:28

Are we in the last days?

Well, I don’t know but I can say for sure these are our last days. Whether Christ comes back today or 100 years from now, the reality is we only have handfuls of decades under the sun.

Time is short, eternity is sure. We’re not promised tomorrow.

So if He tarries in coming, time itself doesn’t tarry. We have these precious moments that we cherish but more solemnly these precious moments we have we must give an account for.

We will be judged on these fleeting moments.

So, how are you living? Are you living with an eternal perspective?

The craziness of last year and the craziness of our political climate are enough to keep you looking down, but don’t. Look up!

When you do, you realize Jesus is still on the throne, your life is still in His hands, He still is Sovereign and governments still rest upon His shoulders.

This world is not our home. He will make a new heaven and a new earth. We are voyagers, aliens belonging to another world. When you don’t live or remind yourself of this reality, you start to worry and cry out like those who don’t have hope.

So remind yourself now, Jesus is preparing a place for you. He is with you. He is for you.

Now with these little moments you have left:

Live it for Him.
Surrender more to Him.
Shine your light a little brighter.
Forsake the temptation of foolish arguments.
Be a little more compassionate. Deposit a little more grace.
Tear down your pride and arrogance.
Call out for mercy.
Courageously stand up for truth.
Be bold for righteousness.
And don’t forget to look up.
